Who we are
Dragon Football covers English football below the headlines. We pair structured data, Companies House filings, Sportmonks fixtures, FA disclosures, with commissioned long-form. The data tells you what happened; the writers tell you what it means.
What we publish
Long-reads, feature interviews and beat reporting, plus a daily desk that handles the rolling news and data content. We don't commission match reports, those run automated, or standalone transfer rumours, which have their own feed. We want the structural stories: the people, the systems, the off-field forces the mainstream press has stopped covering.
House style
- UK English throughout. Plain language. No sportswriting clichés.
- Direct, active voice. Short paragraphs. The reader is intelligent and time-poor.
- Data literacy welcome: quoting Companies House filings, citing finance numbers in flow. Where the data sits on our pages, link to it.
- No em dashes. None of the LLM-fingerprint vocabulary ("delve", "tapestry", "showcase", "leverage", "harness"). No "this isn't X, it's Y" pivots.
- Specific over abstract. Names, dates, places, numbers. The story lives in the details.
