1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser. They let a site remember things between visits, for example whether you have accepted our cookie banner, or what your analytics session ID is. Some cookies are essential for the site to work. Others are optional and only set when you consent.
2. Who is the data controller?
The data controller for cookies set on dragonfootball.co.uk is:
- Dragon Sports Media Limited (company number 15866644)
- Registered office: 2 Alexandra Gate, Fford Pengam, Cardiff, CF24 2SA, United Kingdom
- ICO registration: ZA367891
- Contact: [email protected]
Dragon Football and DragonBet are separate data controllers, both inside the Lovells Group. Any cookies set by DragonBet content embedded on Dragon Football are third-party cookies under UK GDPR and PECR and are only set with your consent. We don't share personal data between the two.
3. How we use cookies
We group cookies into the categories below. The full list of specific cookies we set is available at any time via the Cookie Preference Centre: click "Cookie Settings" in our footer.
Necessary (always set)
Required for the basic operation of the site: load balancing, security, remembering your cookie preferences, age-gate session state.
Functional (consent required)
Let you share content on social networks, embed the newsletter signup, and other non-essential features that improve the experience.
Analytics (consent required)
Help us understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on site, referrer. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
Performance (consent required)
Help us measure site performance and speed, to improve delivery of content.
Advertisement (consent required)
If used, these would enable more relevant marketing content. Dragon Football does not currently set advertising cookies, but this category exists in the consent banner so you can pre-opt-out.
4. Full live cookie inventory
Our live cookie list is maintained automatically by our Consent Management Platform (CookieYes) and is refreshed every time we scan the site. Because the list changes as we add or remove features, we do not duplicate it statically on this page. Instead:
- Click "Cookie Settings" in the footer to open the preference centre.
- Inside the preference centre, each category expands to show every cookie in that category, including name, provider, description and lifetime.
- You can accept or reject any category individually.
This is the authoritative list of cookies currently set on dragonfootball.co.uk.
5. Consent and your preferences
We use the Google Consent Mode v2 framework. Non-essential cookies are blocked by default until you give consent. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask again.
You can review or change your cookie preferences at any time:
- "Cookie Settings" link in the footer reopens the preference centre.
- Your browser's own cookie controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies per site.
Withdrawing consent does not delete cookies that have already been set. To clear those, use your browser's "clear cookies" feature.
6. Third-party tools and international transfers
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use. Each has a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in place with us:
| Service | Purpose | Transfer mechanism |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Website analytics | UK-US Data Bridge / SCCs |
| Beehiiv | Newsletter signup form | UK-US Data Bridge / SCCs |
| CookieYes | Consent management | SCCs |
| DragonBet (group company) | Embedded content, where present | Within UK |
See our Privacy Policy for full details of processors and transfer mechanisms.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Withdraw consent to non-essential cookies at any time (Cookie Settings link in the footer).
- Access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you (see Privacy Policy).
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you believe we are not handling your data correctly.
8. Changes to this policy
We review our cookie footprint regularly. If the cookies we use or the categories change materially, we update this page and re-prompt users for consent via the banner.
