Who we are
Dragon Football is operated by Dragon Sports Media Limited (company number 15866644), a Lovells Group subsidiary based in Cardiff. We cover English football below the headlines: the EFL, the National League, Premier League finance, the women's pyramid and the stories the majors miss. Full company detail is on the About page.
The editorial team
A small core editorial team commissions and edits the site day to day. Longer features and club coverage are written by named freelance journalists, photographers and videographers we commission through DragonFC, the Lovells Group's contributor platform. Every piece carries a real author byline that links to the writer's profile page, where you'll find their credentials, accreditations and links to work they've published elsewhere.

Sources and attribution
We're explicit about where data comes from. Each article credits the source of its facts so you can check our working:
- Football data (fixtures, results, line-ups, player stats, expected goals) is licensed from Sportmonks. We refresh it on a fixed schedule and surface the freshness on data-led pages.
- Club finances come from filed accounts at Companies House, parsed from the official iXBRL filings. We link to the filing on the relevant page.
- Transfer announcements are tracked from each club's official channels and trusted local press, with the originating outlet credited next to the deal.
- Photography is licensed from Alamy for editorial use, with the photographer credited per image.
- Club crests and competition marks are property of their respective rights-holders and used for editorial reference only.
Where we cite reporting from another publisher, we link to and credit the original source.
Fact-checking and accuracy
Every article is read by an editor before it publishes. Editors check that named facts (results, fees, transfer dates, financial figures) match the source, that quotes are attributed, and that any claim involving a person, club or transaction is sourced to something we can point at. We don't publish single-source rumours as fact: they're labelled as rumours, journalists are named, and we resolve them against the official transfer feed once a window closes.
When a story develops, we update the article and note the change in the article footer rather than silently rewriting it.
AI assistance and disclosure
We use software to help with research, data parsing and pattern detection. Where artificial intelligence has materially shaped the text of an article, we say so. Pieces that are predominantly machine-assembled from licensed data — for example automated match recaps or finance summaries — carry a "Dragon Football Data Desk" byline rather than a named human author, and the page explains that the writing was produced from structured data with editorial oversight.
We do not pass off AI-generated text as the work of a named freelance contributor.
Corrections and complaints
If you spot a factual error, please tell us. We acknowledge, investigate and correct or clarify the article promptly, and we say what changed in the article footer. The corrections page lists material corrections we've made. Editorial complaints go to [email protected].
Independence and the commercial side
Editorial decisions sit with the Dragon Football editorial team. Commercial placements — the "Bet Now" button, banner ads, sponsored signposts to DragonBet — are produced and labelled separately from editorial copy, and the affiliate relationship is set out in our affiliate disclosure. Stories are commissioned on news merit, not on the strength of a commercial offer behind them.
Impartiality and tone
Sports coverage is opinionated by its nature — Dragon Football publishes named opinion, analysis and judgement. We label opinion clearly and separate it from straight reporting. Across the site we cover clubs without favour and we don't tailor finance reporting to who's currently advertising on the page.
Age and audience
