Sheffield Wednesday drew 2-2 with Millwall on Saturday afternoon in a match that shifted decisively in the second half after the visitors had looked in reasonable control.

Wednesday took an early lead through Cole McGhee on 36 minutes, and Casper De Norre doubled it four minutes later. At that point the home side appeared organised and purposeful, limiting Millwall's threat in the final third.

The second half was a different contest entirely. Jamal Lowe pulled one back for Millwall on 50 minutes, and the next quarter-hour saw the match accelerate sharply. Lowe equalised on 60 minutes, and within 60 seconds Macaulay Langstaff and Tom Watson exchanged bookings, signalling the rising temperature. Caleb Taylor then restored Wednesday's lead on 67 minutes, only for McGhee to add a second at 72, appearing to put the game beyond Millwall.

Yet Millwall refused to concede the afternoon. Joel Ndala and Langstaff struck in quick succession, the latter's goal on 74 minutes pulling it back to 2-2 again and rendering the final stages tense and scrappy.

Gabriel Otegbayo, Liam Cooper and Mihailo Ivanovic all entered in the closing stages as both managers sought to impose some shape on proceedings. Neither side managed a winner.

Wednesday will feel they let two points go from a position of relative comfort. Millwall, conversely, will take something from the character shown after half-time.
