Cheltenham Town beat Barrow 2-1 at home on Friday evening in a match that shifted significantly in the final quarter, after looking comfortable for the visitors through much of the second half.

Cheltenham made the brighter start. Josh Davison opened the scoring on 15 minutes, and Robbie Cundy doubled the advantage nine minutes later to give the hosts a commanding position. Isaac Fletcher added a third before half-time, and Cheltenham went in at the break with the game apparently settled.

Barrow, however, responded with purpose after the interval. Josh Gordon pulled one back on 59 minutes, and the visitors pressed for a second with increasing conviction. Jack Earing reduced the deficit further on 71 minutes, and suddenly the tie had life again.

The closing stages were frantic. Danny Rose, Sam Foley, Cole Deeming and Harry Ashfield all featured in a congested spell of substitutions and stoppages between the 74th and 77th minutes, reflecting how unsettled both benches had become. Fletcher struck again on 85 minutes to restore a two-goal cushion and effectively end Barrow's hopes of a full recovery.

Sam Sherring and Isaac Hutchinson both came on in the final minutes, but neither side found the net again. The final whistle confirmed a 2-1 scoreline, though the match statistics will not reflect just how close Barrow came to levelling before Fletcher settled matters.

Cheltenham controlled the early exchanges, surrendered their authority briefly, and ultimately held on through a combination of individual quality and late intervention.
