Eastleigh drew 1-1 with Truro City on Wednesday evening, a result that will satisfy neither side given the opportunities both created across a tightly contested ninety minutes.

Truro took the lead through Luke Jephcott in the eleventh minute, the forward finishing calmly to give the visitors early control. Eastleigh's response was measured rather than panicked, and they equalised before the break when Lloyd Humphries converted on the stroke of half-time to level proceedings.

Shaun Donnellan had already been dismissed for Eastleigh in the thirty-second minute, and that reduction to ten men shaped much of what followed. Truro pressed the numerical advantage in the second half, with Dominic Johnson-Fisher and Inih Effiong both finding the net in the sixties and seventies, though the exact order of the scoreline across that spell remained fluid as Eastleigh pushed back.

Kieron Evans and J. Stretton added further contributions, with Jephcott completing a personal double in the eighty-third minute alongside a goal from J. Tabor. Aaron Pierre then registered on ninety minutes in what became a frantic closing exchange.

The bare scoreline of 1-1 understates the late activity at both ends, yet Eastleigh's long spell with ten men ultimately cost them the chance to take all three points. Truro, for their part, showed enough in periods to suggest they deserved more than a share of the spoils.
