Doncaster Rovers drew 1-1 with Stockport County on Tuesday evening, a result that felt like a reasonable reflection of a game Stockport largely shaped but failed to convert into victory.

Rovers made the brighter start. Oliver Norwood gave the home side the lead in the eleventh minute, and for a spell Doncaster looked capable of building on that advantage. Stockport, though, were patient and grew into the contest, and the half-time interval prompted a significant reshaping from their dugout.

Five changes arrived at the break, with Luke Molyneux, Jack Senior, Brandon Hanlan, Owen Bailey and Roman Dixon all introduced. The effect was immediate. Dixon levelled matters within minutes of the restart, and Stockport began to control the tempo with a directness that Doncaster struggled to match.

The visitors pressed for a winner and Tanto Olaofe was brought on in the sixty-sixth minute alongside Odin Bailey as Dave Challinor sought further attacking impetus. Matthew Pearson then entered the fray in the seventy-ninth minute, giving Stockport a presence to target from set pieces.

Hakeeb Adelakun's introduction with eight minutes remaining added further width, and Molyneux went close late on, his effort in stoppage time the final significant moment of a competitive evening.

Doncaster held firm through the closing stages to secure a point that preserves a degree of home respectability. Stockport will feel the draw was a fraction short of what their second-half performance merited.
