Hartlepool United left Truro with a comfortable victory, the scoreline ultimately reading 1-4 in the visitors' favour after a commanding second-half performance that settled any lingering uncertainty.

Cameron John gave Hartlepool an early foothold in the ninth minute, and though Luke Jephcott pulled one back for Truro at 18 minutes to briefly level terms, Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain restored the advantage before the interval, scoring in the 39th minute to send Hartlepool into the break with their noses in front.

Truro briefly threatened after the restart through Saikou Janneh, who struck in the 46th minute, but Hartlepool responded immediately. Charlie Caton and Max Kinsey scored either side of the hour, in the 49th and 50th minutes respectively, effectively ending the contest as a competitive affair.

Jay Benn added a fourth for the visitors in the 60th minute, and though Truro forced a pair of late substitutions and Frederick Issaka and Zac Bell were introduced around the 70th mark, the home side struggled to manufacture anything meaningful in the final quarter.

Hartlepool managed the remainder of the game sensibly. Adam Campbell, Harry Charsley, and Sam Folarin all featured in a busy spell of late changes, while Rekeil Pyke came on in the 86th minute as Hartlepool saw out the win without difficulty.

Truro's effort was not without moments of intent, but Hartlepool's greater efficiency in both penalty areas proved the difference throughout.
