Wycombe Wanderers fell to a 0-4 defeat at Adams Park on Saturday, with Port Vale producing a controlled and largely comfortable performance across the ninety minutes.

Vale established their authority early. E. Campbell opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, and Cauley Woodrow doubled the advantage before the half-hour mark, giving the visitors a firm grip before the interval. Wycombe offered little in reply and looked short of the pressing intensity needed to unsettle a Vale side that moved the ball with purpose and compactness.

Andre Gray came on at the start of the second half and Vale continued to threaten. Ewan Henderson added a third in the seventy-third minute, and Fred Onyedinma confirmed the margin late on with a fourth in the eighty-fifth. By that point, the contest had long been decided.

Daniel Harvie, Rhys Walters and Junior Quitirna were among those introduced from the benches as both managers adjusted their squads, but the changes did little to alter the pattern. Wycombe substitute Onel Hernandez showed some movement after coming on around the seventieth minute, though without the service to threaten meaningfully.

For Port Vale, this was a disciplined away performance. They defended their lead without anxiety and took their chances when they arrived. Wycombe, by contrast, created very little and will need to respond quickly given their league position. This was a straightforward victory for the visitors.
