Salford City drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening in a match that produced most of its drama across a frantic few minutes either side of half-time.

The game turned almost entirely on the interval. Luca Hoole put Shrewsbury ahead in first-half stoppage time, and within sixty seconds of the restart N. Freeman levelled for Salford. The speed of that response unsettled Shrewsbury, and Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi added a second almost immediately to give the hosts the advantage. Tom Sang pulled one back for the visitors at 51 minutes, restoring parity in a match that had swung wildly in the space of six minutes.

Salford had controlled longer stretches of the second half without converting that possession into clear openings. A cluster of substitutions around the hour mark, including Adebola Oluwo, Ben Woodburn, and Rosaire Longelo for Salford, and Sam Clucas for Shrewsbury, shifted the shape of the game without decisively altering the balance.

Will Boyle and Fabio Borini were introduced late on, and Kelly N'Mai came off the bench in the 87th minute as both managers searched for a winner. Mal Benning and Tom Anderson entered in the final moments, but neither side managed a third goal.

Shrewsbury will feel the manner of their capitulation immediately after the break cost them two points. Salford, for their part, were fortunate to hold the lead as briefly as they did.
