Harrogate Town drew 1-1 with Salford City on Saturday, a match that burst into life only in its final quarter before delivering a frantic and ultimately unsatisfying finish for both sides.

The first hour offered little of note, with neither team establishing meaningful control. Salford looked the more purposeful side in patches, but lacked the conviction to translate possession into genuine pressure. Harrogate, compact and cautious, were content to absorb rather than threaten.

The game shifted sharply in the 66th minute when Daniel Udoh and Princewill Ehibhatiomhan were both dismissed, reducing both sides to ten men and opening up space that had previously been absent. Within a minute, Fabio Borini put Salford ahead, and the visitors appeared on course for a narrow victory.

Levi Sutton saw red in the 69th minute, leaving Salford with nine men, and Harrogate began to press with greater urgency. Lewis Cass and S. Duke-McKenna were both cautioned in the 77th minute as tempers frayed, before Jack Muldoon levelled for the hosts in the 83rd minute.

Borini added a second for Salford almost immediately, only for Daniel Udoh, somehow still involved despite his earlier exit, to equalise again in the 90th minute. Late bookings for Alfie Dorrington and Oliver Turton underlined the ill-discipline that had defined the closing stages.

The point satisfied neither manager. Harrogate remain vulnerable at home, and Salford's numerical collapse cost them what should have been a straightforward win.
