Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town drew 1-1 on Saturday afternoon in a contest that came to life almost entirely within the final half-hour, the opening sixty minutes producing little of consequence from either side.

Swindon made the breakthrough first. Ethan Bristow found the net on 63 minutes, converting what appeared a well-worked move through the centre, and Swindon looked positioned to hold on for three points. Tranmere responded immediately, though, with Junior Hoilett equalising four minutes later to level the match and shift the momentum entirely back towards the home side.

The closing stages grew increasingly frantic. Ollie Palmer was introduced alongside Hoilett's goal in what proved a significant reshuffle, and Tranmere pressed with greater urgency. Sol Solomon entered the action two minutes after the equaliser, adding further energy to Rovers' attacking play.

Swindon attempted to reassert themselves late on. Zech Obiero came on with six minutes remaining, and Kaiyne Woolery followed a minute later, suggesting the visitors retained ambitions of a winner. Joel McGregor was introduced in added time for Swindon, while Omari Patrick appeared for Tranmere in the same period alongside a second contribution from Hoilett's influence on proceedings.

Neither side could find a decisive goal. Tranmere will feel the point salvaged something after going behind; Swindon will consider it two points dropped having led with time running short. A share of the spoils felt like an honest reflection of a match that never quite found its rhythm.
