Sheffield United beat Swansea City 3-1 in a second half that bore little resemblance to what preceded it. For much of the opening period, the hosts carried the greater threat, with Gustavo Hamer putting them ahead on 16 minutes and Zan Vipotnik doubling the advantage shortly before half-time. Swansea, by contrast, were passive and gave up ground too easily.

Malick Yalcouyé pulled one back just before the interval to give Swansea a foothold, and the opening exchanges of the second half suggested the visitors might build on it. That prospect quickly dissolved. A frantic spell between the 58th and 64th minutes settled the contest. Gustavo Nunes scored on 58 minutes, and Tom Cannon found the net twice within six minutes, the second arriving at 64 to effectively end Swansea's hopes of a recovery.

The substitutions told their own story. Sheffield United managed the game with confidence while Swansea chased footholds that never materialised. Adam Idah, Ji-sung Eom and others entered the fray in the final quarter but could not disrupt a well-organised home rearguard. Eom did register twice in quick succession around the 76th and 82nd minute marks, though both efforts arrived after the outcome had long been determined. Tahith Chong and Femi Seriki added further names to the scoresheet in the closing stages, inflating a margin that reflected Sheffield United's authority on the day.
