Queens Park Rangers drew 1-1 with Watford on Friday afternoon, a result that felt fair given how the match unfolded across ninety minutes of shifting momentum.

Watford settled the better in the opening half-hour. Edoardo Bove picked up a booking in the 23rd minute as QPR sought to contain their visitors, and Rayan Kolli was cautioned twice in quick succession, on 26 and 29 minutes, leaving Watford to see out the half with a numerical advantage. Jimmy Dunne headed QPR in front on 30 minutes, converting from a set piece to give the hosts a lead their possession statistics barely justified.

The second half brought a flurry of substitutions and cards. Pierre Ekwah was booked four minutes after the restart, and Watford began to find more space. Nampalys Mendy and Amin Nabizada came on in the 57th minute as Watford pushed for an equaliser, and Paul Patrick Smyth was cautioned twice within two minutes of his introduction, departing on 63 minutes. Saba Goglichidze levelled in the 62nd minute, restoring parity for Watford at a point when QPR were visibly stretched.

The final quarter saw further changes from both benches, with Kwame Poku, Richard Kone and Imrân Louza all introduced, and yellow cards continued to accumulate. Neither side found a second goal, and QPR were fortunate not to concede again given the traffic Watford generated through the closing stages.
