Leeds United fell to a 0-5 defeat at home on Saturday, a result that flattered neither the scoreline nor the hosts, who were outclassed from the opening quarter-hour.

Wolverhampton took control early and never relinquished it. James Justin opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Noah Okafor added a second just two minutes later, effectively ending Leeds as a competitive force before the half-hour mark. Mateus Mané made it three before the interval, and Pedro Lima's goal seconds after the restart confirmed the afternoon's direction of travel.

Rob Edwards made changes at the hour mark, introducing Wilfried Gnonto and Rodrigo Gomes in the 67th minute, and Brenden Aaronson ten minutes later. The alterations offered fleeting moments of intent from Leeds but produced nothing of note in front of goal.

Hee-chan Hwang added a fifth in the 75th minute, with Ilia Gruev's yellow card in the 78th minute reflecting the frustration that had settled around the home side.

The closing stages brought a flurry of substitutions from both benches, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Sean Longstaff, Lukas Nmecha, Hugo Bueno and Adam Armstrong all introduced, and Joe Rodon receiving a booking in stoppage time. James Justin was also cautioned late on.

Wolves were composed, direct and clinical. Leeds, by contrast, had no answer at any stage, and the final whistle brought little comfort to a stadium that had grown restless long before it arrived.
