Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Monday afternoon in a contest that belonged to the home side almost from the first whistle.

Forest had an early scare when Taiwo Awoniyi went down inside two minutes, forcing a prompt substitution, and the visitors struggled to recover any rhythm after that disruption. Chelsea took full advantage. Malo Gusto opened the scoring in the 14th minute, and Igor Jesus added a second just sixty seconds later, effectively settling the match before Forest had found their footing.

The interval brought wholesale changes from both dugouts. Nottingham Forest sent on Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenković and Morgan Gibbs-White at the break, while Chelsea replaced Neco Williams, Liam Delap and Cole Palmer. The alterations did little to alter the flow of the game. Andrey Santos came on for Chelsea in the 58th minute, and Filip Jørgensen replaced the goalkeeper at 66 minutes, around the same time Chris Wood entered for Forest.

Moisés Caicedo settled any lingering doubt with Chelsea's third goal on 78 minutes, converting what amounted to a controlled, measured conclusion to a dominant home performance. Omari Hutchinson came off late, and João Pedro joined from the bench in the final minutes, but the result was long since beyond question.

Chelsea controlled territory, managed their transitions well and punished Forest's defensive fragility with efficiency. Forest offered little after their opening disruption and left west London with nothing.
