Derby County drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon in a match that swung violently in the final half-hour after the visitors had spent much of the game in comfortable control.

Wednesday came into the interval with a two-goal cushion. Ben Brereton Díaz opened the scoring in the eleventh minute and added a second before the half-hour mark, with Liam Palmer and Matt Clarke also on the scoresheet before the break to give the Yorkshire side a four-goal lead. Derby had been second to most things and offered little in response.

Jerry Yates pulled one back for the hosts in the seventeenth minute, but Wednesday's dominance made that feel like a consolation rather than a signal of intent.

The second half told a very different story. David Ozoh reduced the deficit further on sixty-two minutes, and the game then shifted in the space of sixty seconds around the seventy-fourth minute. Jaydon Banel and Joel Ndala both scored for Derby, with Carlton Morris replying immediately for Wednesday to steady the visitors.

Derby pressed on. Jarvis Thornton added another on eighty-two minutes and Oscar Fraulo converted moments before full time to level at 1-1, before Iké Ugbo completed the turnaround in the final minute.

Wednesday had done enough to win comfortably and instead left with nothing. Derby's recovery was dramatic but the visitors will feel they should never have allowed it.
