Wealdstone beat Tamworth 2-1 in a match that produced an extraordinary number of substitutions and a scoreline that barely reflected the frantic nature of the evening.

The home side took control early. Stefan Mols opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and although Teo Kurtaran pulled one back for Tamworth two minutes later, Wealdstone reasserted themselves when Dylan Kadji added a second on 29 minutes. From that point, Wealdstone managed the game with reasonable composure, though Tamworth pressed hard enough to keep the contest alive into the second half.

Ben Acquaye and Sean Adarkwa were both introduced before the interval, suggesting one side felt the need to reshape early. Matthias Curley also came on at the break, one of a string of changes that altered the rhythm of the match considerably.

Tamworth pushed for an equaliser through the second period. Micah Obiero appeared from the bench on 68 minutes, and Ben Milnes had been introduced six minutes earlier, giving their attack fresh legs. Callum Cockerill-Mollett came on for Wealdstone at 72 minutes, followed quickly by Enzio Boldewijn and Luke Fairlamb.

The closing stages brought a flurry of further changes on both sides, with Daniel Isichei, Michael Reindorf, Oliver Lynch and Olufela Olomola all entering the fray. Terrell Agyemang completed the substitutions in stoppage time. Wealdstone held on to collect the three points.
