West Bromwich Albion drew 2-2 with Coventry City on Saturday lunchtime in a match that produced eight goals and considerable tactical disorder from both sides.

Coventry made the faster start. Ephron Mason-Clark put them ahead inside five minutes, and Milan van Ewijk doubled that lead at sixteen. The home side looked exposed and short of ideas, but Tatsuhiro Sakamoto pulled one back almost immediately, and Jack Rudoni levelled before the half-hour was out. Bobby Thomas restored Coventry's advantage at thirty-eight, only for George Hampton Campbell to be introduced at forty, signalling West Brom's intent to reshape the contest before the interval.

The second half followed a similarly restless pattern. Daryl Dike and Michael Johnston entered the fray at sixty-one, and Dike's physical presence began to unsettle Coventry's defensive shape. Ellis Simms drew West Brom level at seventy-one, and Josh Eccles came off the bench a minute later as Coventry sought to regain control they had largely surrendered.

Brandon Thomas-Asante and Romain Esse both featured at seventy-eight, adding further disruption to an already fragmented final quarter. Victor Torp came close to a late winner for Coventry at eighty-six, but the scoreline held at 2-2.

Neither side could be said to have managed the game well. West Brom showed resilience in recovering twice from a deficit, but Coventry will reflect on opportunities to have secured all three points.
