Woking beat Boreham Wood 2-0 on Tuesday evening in a match that the home side controlled for long stretches, though Boreham Wood contributed enough to make the first half genuinely competitive.

Marley Marshall opened the scoring in the sixth minute, giving Woking an early platform, and the visitors responded with some intent. Matt Rush pulled things level at 21 minutes, and the middle portion of the first half saw a flurry of bookings as both sides pushed for territory. Matt Ward and Junior Robinson were cautioned within three minutes of each other, and Tom White followed shortly after for Boreham Wood.

Marshall struck again on 29 minutes to restore Woking's advantage before the interval, and that second goal proved the turning point. Boreham Wood never found a way back into it.

The second half brought further changes and further cautions. Joe Newton, Tim Akinola, Leon Ayinde, Harry Beautyman and Jack Turner all entered the game across the hour mark, and Aaron Drewe and J. Forster-Caskey were booked as the contest grew scratchier. Charles Clayden and Sam Ashford came on late, and Matt Rush, already cautioned, picked up a second yellow in added time to finish the evening with ten men.

Woking's victory was built on Marshall's early double and the composure to see out a second half in which Boreham Wood had little cutting edge. The two points of difference came before the break.
