Source & method

Every figure is pulled from a UK statutory filing at Companies House. Where the club files iXBRL (digital) accounts, we parse them automatically using the iXBRL tags (core:StaffCosts, core:Turnover, core:ProfitLoss, core:Borrowings). Where the club files paper (Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and most of the older PL clubs do), figures are editor-curated from the same filing and tagged "paper".

Wage bill = total staff costs as filed (players, coaches, scouts, academy, admin combined). Not all clubs disclose this. Turnover = total revenue including matchday, commercial, broadcast and player trading. Clubs filing under FRS 102 Section 1A (small companies regime) are not required to disclose turnover — Wrexham, Forest Green and many of the EFL/National League sides fall in that bucket. Net debt = total borrowings + group loans (which is often owner-loan money) minus cash.

Refreshed weekly via cron. Per-club hubs at /football-finance/club/{slug}/ show the full filing history, charges, owner profile and source links.
